The Opportunity
Our Telephone Sales Representative will help to create and build customer relationships through needs based sales conversations with both customers and prospects. Our rep will pursue referrals and sales leads and through these conversations will help to increase M&T Bank's customer base, augment customer account balances, and assist with customer retention.
Generate Sales
Sell loan, deposit and other bank products using tools provided by contacting current and potential customers using an auto - dialer or answering incoming sales calls. Refer customers to M&T branches for account openings, investment, insurance and mortgage opportunities. Identify cross selling opportunities to further enhance customer’s relationship with M&T Bank. Follow through with customers until accounts are open. Achieve assigned sales goals monthly, quarterly, and annually.
Customer Service
Provide back up support for incoming customer service calls, general sales and retention as needed.
Qualifications:
Experience required for this position:
-High school diploma or GED
-1 year previous sales and customer service experience.
-Strong telemarketing/sales ability
-Demonstrating organizational, time management and prioritization skills
-Proficient communication skills in written and verbal communications
-Basic keyboarding skills and data entry skills
Ideal candidate will have an associates degree in business, more than 1 year of previous outbound sales experience using an auto-dialer; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PACE/acaps and past experience working with the Groupwise e-mail system.
